Overview
Storage is the single most important component in a video workflow environment. Without fast, latency-managed storage, projects will take longer or require more storage equipment to achieve stream count goals. Worse, content can be put at risk with lost data and dropped frames when using unqualified, entry-level solutions.
Storage Enclosure by Ci Design
Developed by Ci Design, the NSR 208 2U rackmount-based storage enclosure sports a smooth, solid design compatible with several SATA and SAS drives on the market. Easy-swap silent fans mounted on rubber screws cut down on the noise level, making this the ideal solution for audio and video studio environments. By maximizing the special design of hard drive trays and horizontal PCB boards, airflow level is increased, and the MTBF is extended. Each hard drive tray is also equipped with special locking features for added security.

Rebuild Technology
One of the most important functions of a RAID solution for Media & Entertainment is degraded performance – more specifically, performance during a drive rebuild. Storage solutions powered by the ATTO FastStream gives users the ability to achieve full stream counts during a drive rebuild, thereby enabling editors to work on projects at full stream counts.

ATTO FastStream was engineered not only for ease of use, but for the easy setup, maintenance and management of data storage from one centralized location.
2-Port or 4-Port Fibre Channel
FastStream-powered solutions allow users to keep it simple with the option of the Dual Port Fibre Channel Controller (5550), or the more powerful 4-Port Fibre Channel Controller (8550). The Dual Port Fibre Channel Controller raises the performance potential to up to 20 streams of DVC Pro HD video at a time, or 3 streams of 10-bit uncompressed HD video, while the 4-Port Fibre Channel Controller allows for up to 30 streams of DVC Pro HD, or 6 streams of 10-bit uncompressed HD video. The 4-Port Fibre Channel Controller also enables up to four users to share content without the need for a switch, while the Dual Port Fibre Channel Controller allows high stream counts and the same ATTO features as the higher-performing 4-Port Fiber Channel Controller at a more economical level.
